How to transfer text messages to PC

I have a samsung galaxy S4, with a smashed screen! So I can't really do or see anything on my phone. I have important text messages on my phone and I was wondering how to transfer text messages to my PC without being able to see anything. Getting really stressed. I have a new phone with my old sim in it. If that makes a difference.

Any chance you were using Hangouts? If so, just go to gmail.com, log in, and you should see them there.

If not Hangouts, what messaging app were you using?

What is hangouts? They were SMS text messages, no app!

Okay, so is your screen totally dead/black, or is it even remotely usable?

It's kind of usable, but most of it I cant see.

I think you are pretty well stuck.

Your best bet is probably to take it to a screen repair shop (it seems every mall has one these days) and pay whatever it costs to get the screen replaced; just make sure you tell the guy not to factory reset the phone and it will likely be alright.

Then, once you get the data off your phone, you can always eBay it or whatever to, hopefully, get back the money you invested in the new screen.
