Galaxy S4 custom recovery latest firmware troubles

So I installed the OTA update and lost root, but got it back. Now I have been trying to install a custom recovery so I can use custom ROMs. Using ROM manager's automatic installation got me nowhere. Factory reset still got me nowhere. Is there some guide I have not found or is my phone just messed up?

My phone is Verizon SCH-I545.

There isnt a custom recovery "yet" for the me7 ota update. Root only at this point.

you need to use odin to flash a recovery.
philz touch seems to be the best one.

Like Jack said, no custom recoveries yet. Just root. You're going to have to hold off on those ROM's just a little while longer.
