rooted s4 4.2.2 how to update firmware?

Have phone galaxy s4 gti9505 rooted with chainfire with firmware 4.2.2 looking on how to update to either 4.3 or 4.4.2 and keep root. Try to use kies but wont work, and says cant update coz phone modified. Any help would be greatful as im slowly pulling out all my hair ; )

you should just flash a custom rom -- [ROM]KOT49H【4.4.2】AOSP Official Google Edition 【Verizon!】03-29-2014 - xda-developers -- THIS is the best 4.4.2 Google Play Edition rom (must have TWRP or CWM for recovery, safe strap users can only flash touchwiz based roms and this is not one)
