S4 memory question

I'm giving my Iphone to my wife and getting an S4. I see some folks say that they are holding out for the 32Gb version. I always bought 32Gb Iphones, because there wasn't an option to use an external memory card.

I hope this isn't too dumb of a question, but since you can add a 64Gb via a micro SD card, what makes internal 32Gb more desirable? In other words, why would I want to wait for the 32Gb version?

64GB microSD card support, but honestly the 32GB is crucial for me since you can't (easily) for the most part put apps on the microSD card and run them from there. 16GB is just too little storage for today's phones, Samsung should just offer a 32GB and 64GB version and call it a day.
