The missus has a SGS3, hence we paid a visit to AT&T today to see the SGS4. It had a bar of sorts on the left side of the screen. You could 'pull' it out, or have it hidden with a tiny arrow. Within it was a list of apps.

Curious, is this part of the OS, (android 4.2.2) or an app of sorts?

If an app, what is the name of it, etc.? Also, can one install it on the SGS3?

    Thanks in advance

I have not personally used this feature. Is it worth using? Does it get in the way?

This feature is awesome. You enable and disable it by long pressing the back button.

So do AT&T users have to be rooted and thus update to another OS (android 4.1.*) to get this option? Thanks

Wait, I know it is standard on the S4, but one would need to upgrade the OS on the SGS3 to get that feature, no?

When my missus gets home, I'll check her SGS3 settings. Thanks

Thanks for the info. I am so glad I found this forum. I just got my S4 last week and the left side bar disappeared and I used it all the time. Couldn't figure out how I lost it or how to get it back.
