Battery charging rate

The GS4 comes with a 2 amp charger to charge the battery fast. In general, my understanding is that charging a battery at a lower rate causes less wear than charging it at a higher rate. Normally I'm not in a hurry when charging my phone, so I'm thinking of using a 1 amp charger from another phone as my "normal" charger, and use the Samsung 2 amp charger only when I do need to charge fast.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
