Strange unlock screen

Hello. Not sure if this is an issue or not. I went to unlock my s4 today and instead of my usual unlock screen, or any unlock screen I recognized for that matter, it showed this really nice black background with the time, date, and battery percent in the middle of the screen. But then it went black and my usual unlock screen appeared. Has anyone else had this happen or does this screen sound familiar to anyone? And how do I get back to that unlock screen? I am not running anything that would modify the unlock screen. It's what came with the phone.

Like this? This is called Quick Glance. When enabled, wave your hand across the camera and it will give you date/time/battery info and let you know if you have any notifications.

Yup! That's it! But for the life of me I can't get air gestures to work.

Yea sometimes the gestures are difficult to use. Just make sure they're on and maybe power cycle your phone. Hopefully that does the trick!

All set! Thanks! I found that the glance gesture doesn't work if you're holding the phone (go figure). Lay it flat on something and it easily detects hand motion. Thanks again!

That's actually how it's supposed to work. The idea is that your phone is on a table beside you and you want to see if you missed anything without having to pick up the phone.
