would leaving my galaxy s4 charging over night do any kind of damage to the battery?

Ive never left it charging over night because I mostly go to sleep with 40% left. But I was just wondering, could it decrease the power of the battery or any of that??

I've always charged my phones overnight and have always experienced long life with my batteries. But since the S4 can charch very rapidly with the 2 amp OEM charger, just to be safe I use an old 700 mAh Blackberry charger for the overnight sessions. I may not need to do this, but it can't hurt.

In summary, it's way better to leave your phone on the charger when not in use than to let it drain very low.

No overnight charging is fine and I do it every night. And again if anything were to happen the battery is replaceable.

One of the reasons why people by this phone is because of the removable battery. A replacement battery costs 10 dollars. I say have no worries.

Yep. Ever since the Ngage I have let my phones charge over night. Ngage, Tmo Dash, G1, Droid 1, N900 (gosh that phone sucked), Incredible, Droid 3, Razr and the S3. No problems.

Night time is the best time to charge your phone period. Use your phone, put on charger, go to bed and repeat
