I get the disabling part, but I would prefer to completely remove apps that I am not able to use or would never use ;-)
You can't remove without rooting. Rooting voids warranty, prevents getting critical updates and risks bricking your phone. I've done it with my older Droid Charge but personally would not with a newer still carrier supported phone.
Your choice of course, but if you do the disable trick, then mark them hidden in the app drawer, they'll be out of sight out of mind.
I haven't looked for rooting info for this phone so can't answer that.
