Incoming calls not switching to Bluetooth headset

I am new to Android. I used to have a Iphone 4s and I would frequently listen to music apps while driving Via headphone jack on phone to Aux in on car radio. When I would get an incoming call and I would answer from the bluetooth headset the call would come through the headset. I just got a Galaxy s4 and when I answer the call from headset it goes to speaker phone with output going to car audio. the only way I can get the call to go to the headset is to unplug the cable from the car radio. Is there a way to make this work like it did on the Iphone?
