Forgotten PIN

My wife accidentally set a PIN on her S4 and now can't get into it. Is there any way to bypass this? Thanks for any help!

After entering it too many times it should pop up and ask for you to log in to the google account the phone was activated with, if it doesnt come up automatically there should be a button saying "forgot password" or something like that

Everyone keeps spouting this "it should ask you to log in". They're not listening to us. It's not prompting us. No, we're not stupid; you are misinformed.

His wife might have set her phone to call only ... without a data connection she wouldn't get that log in option via Google account.

But okay, I heard too of people who weren't got it with a data connection.
