How often is that couple of times? Like once a month? cause I've heard that draining Li-on batteries is bad for the battery life but I have read in the apple battery care that draining the battery once a month then charging it fully is good for it.

No need to start another battery thread. Just search this forum for "battery" and you'll find the answer to this in numerous threads.

Long story short, there is very little need to calibrate your battery. You should only do it every 3 months, at most. This procedure is actually bad for your battery (just a tiny bit though, don't freak out!), but helps with calibration...which is hardly necessary any more.
