    Default What is this icon?

Can anyone tell me what this icon is? The one that sorta looks like a broken "N", next to the wi-fi icon. It's driving me nuts!!! Thanks

You can probably find it easy enough by looking through your downloaded/running apps.

that's your NFC icon (Near Field Communications) ... that means it's "on" ... this has to be on for you to put your phone up to another phone that is NFC capable so you can "beam" a file directly into their phone ...

If you remember the commercial where all the people are waiting in line for the new iphone, and the two guys with android phones are standing there talking ... and one of them zaps a playlist directly to the other phone ... that's what the NFC allows you to do.

If you pull down your notification panel, you'll see a row of toggles at the top of the screen ... you can scroll that bar sideways ... and find the NFC icon which should be lit up ... tap it, and it will turn off. You only need it on when you want to directly send a file to another phone.
