Default Leaked Samsung Memo Shows Some KitKat Love for the Galaxy Lineup

Samsung is notorious for quick updates to its famous Galaxy Lineup including the Galaxy S3 and S4 as well as the Note 2 and Note 3. The Galaxy Note 2 and S3 recently got the jump to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, though the S3 update was put on hold due to some operational bugs that hadnít been ironed out.

Samsung remains the most dominant in the Android market share with the Galaxy S series and other Galaxy line of devices. HTC, Motorola and Sony need to use Android 4.4 KitKat to boost sales record attracting more customers and retaining loyal users on using their devices. As such Samsung didnít need to push for updates so soon, but Samsung being Samsung had waited till the rest announced their plans of the KitKat update till they announce their own. Until a leaked document from the Samsung R&D, India shows the update timeline for their best selling Galaxy lineup.

We donít know whatís behind the curtains at Samsung and it looks like the company has already started to fully integrate TouchWiz UI and services to latest Android 4.4. Successful integration may benefit Galaxy device owners in several aspects of the TouchWiz UI:

    - Smoother response

    - More stable than before

    - Faster performance

    - Becomes lightweight on the RAM

    - Better multi-tasking than ever

Samsung Galaxy owners should wait till December for an official announcement of the upcoming update. Samsung isnít going to let Android 4.4 slip away because it is a selling point for its Galaxy Lineup.

They never do say though...is this for all variations of the S4 or only the S4 regular?

Yeah boy, another "quick update" from Samsung ... after the 4.3 update to the S4 screwed up so many people's phones that they may have to issue a patch for it.

The notion of half-baked OS updates as a marketing tool is just, well, half-something else. If this is correct, and if the 4.4 update causes as many people as many problems as the 4.3 (and of course 4.3 was only an intra-Jelly Bean update, not a move to a whole new version of Android), it may be striking proof that Samsung, like many large businesses today, is concerned only with the number of items sold and the number of people who buy them, not with the number of people who are happy they bought them.

I speak as one who has not had any serious problems with Samsung OS updates over the last several years. But I've seen so many stories of so many people with the same problems, which surely could have been caught with a longer testing period, that I've grown skeptical of Samsung's processes and its commitment to its customers.

Yesterday (January 28) there were various posts about a leaked version of KItKat, specifically for Galaxy S4 with AT&T.
The prominent warnings are 2: New bootloader, that will prevent You from stepping back to 4.3 unless You do a Factory Reset and forced reboot when playing a Video.

    That's it.
Also, speculations that if there is a leak of an official test version, but unofficial from Samsung specifically for AT&T, it means days before the official update is offered.
Anyone tried this unofficial leak for an AT&T S4? Other than not playing videos for some days until the official release is out, is it safe to try?
