Does anybody know what this is? The program is currently running on my phone, and whenever I force stop on it, it automatically boots up again. A quick Google search on it showed others with similar issues, but no fix or explanation as to what this program is.

Thanks Braden,

I don't know how this PopupuiReceiver got on mu Galaxy s5 but, your fix worked.

Did any of you install "universal remote app", I have heard that PopupuiReceiver showing up after installing that 3rd party app
it's a popup user interface receiver... a direct marketing tool to advertise to you.

To remove goto
settings->applicationmanager->downloaded->adservices
remove the above application, switch off the handset and start again.

The app doesn't even show up in the list of downloaded OR running apps. .. But it is. And i didn't download a universal remote

From the research i have done into this you do not want to stop this spplication, you will not get call or sms small popups when you are using other apps if you do.

Go to settings, applications, application manager scroll to the right to all scroll down to popupui receiver hold on it and clear data this will work.. cheers

PopupuiReceiver runs when mobile data is turned off. The app has to run in order to receive calls/texts/etc over WiFi only.
I turn off mobile data at home to avoid using minutes, ect.
If you also turn off mobile data when home, turn it back on, kill the PopupuiReceiver task, and it shouldn't come back up.

I found out how I got PopupuiReceiver, the only new app I installed was Fox News, it gives me new update pop ups, I removed it, no more PopupuiReceiver.

Thanks Bob, yours was the only logical fix for the popupui receiver problem. "Scroll down to popupui receiver "tap" on it, "go to clear data" and it does indeed work.

I'm on a Samsung galaxy 5. Just started to show up in Task Manager. I clear it, and it will show up again next morning when I turn the phone on. It appears in my app list, but there is no way to remove or disable. Haven't tried clearing data, cause I'm not sure what this thing actually does and if I need it. Varying posts on this subject, and I can't find anything definite anywhere.

Have tried every fix out there. Turned on data. Turned off phone and removed battery for 20 seconds. Closed all apps. Uninstalled new apps. Cleared data. And yet it still appears. Please help

What is weird to me, is if you go to your application manager, and click the battery usage window, the list of things it is capible of (or as it says, "included packages") is a bit unnerving. Im not sure if it needs permission to view, change, or eavesdrop on anything in your phone. Maybe I'm just paranoid?
I am using a note 4
