At least for me, this is a golden solution and I am psyched! On another forum a user mentioned an app named "Caffeine" by Syntaxa (it's on Play). I checked it out and voila - it works like a charm!
"Caffeine is a tiny easy to use application which prevents your phone from going to sleep, lock or dim the screen.
You can toggle it manually or let it automatically activate only when the device is connected to AC Adapter and/or PC."
My issue is that I want my screen to remain at a preset level of brightness with no dimming when I have it plugged in, which is at my desk or in the car. Caffeine allows you to set this option and handles it beautifully. After days of searching for a solution (I have changed the developer option to Stay Awake, but this does not prevent dimming), Caffeine is it!! I hope this might help someone else.
