Ensure the language on his phone is set to English.

The other day I saw a post like these, try downloading a antivirus from play store and scan your s4.
On the other post I saw the other day he resolve his problem by this way

All I can think is Huawei is a Chinese company so maybe something screwy is going on in the language settings.

Agreed its on his end.

isn't the lookout app that's already downloaded on the phone for or should I download a different one ?

Try avg on the market and lookout. Scan it twice. Also u can both try to use a 3rd party sms app like textra.

I do not know anything about how the characters in text messages are normally encoded when sent, but it looks like the text was sent encoded as UTF-16 big endian and was interpreted by the receiving phone as UTF-16 little endian (or vice versa). If that was the case, then the actual message was something like "mm babe me too ! we need some cuddling time it's been to long". Maybe someone else who understands the character encodings used in text messages can comment on how this might happen.
