email server timeout?

Is there a way to change the email server timeout in the native Samsung email app? My phone recently stopped sending mail on my Bell account, so I rechecked all of the outgoing server settings and they look fine. I'm pretty sure it's a timeout issue, as the response time on the Bell servers SUCKS. This happens once in a while with Yahoo too, so it's probably the same issue.
