Can't Access FB Messages anymore

For the past month I have not been able to access my FB messages on my Samsung Galaxy S4 anymore. I can see the message and the first few words, but when I tap on the message to read it - nothing happens, anyone out there that has run across this and found the fix? I don't know if it is a FB issue or a Verizon issue or a Samsung GalaxyS4 issue....

Very rare, you may try signing out of the app and logging in again to see what happens. If no luck, perhaps un installing the app and installing it again. Do you have another mobile device to make comparisons? Just some ideas.

You may have to download Facebook messenger. I couldn't access my messages until I downloaded messenger. Facebook are getting rid of being able to send & receive messages through there app. They want people to use messenger.
