Hi all,
I have a samsung galaxy s4 (i9505 unlocked version) which was brought 1 year ago, but after 5 months had a water damage. It was recovered and one day, I used my laptop placed over it accidentally and found the phone dead probably because of the heat produced by the laptop (the laptop overheats often). The phone doesn't show any signs of overheat though. It still looks brand new except that it doesn't power on. I have shown the phone to many local technicians but they are telling that the motherboard is gone and the replacement will cost nearly that of a brand new phone. I do not know what to do with my dead phone. Any suggestions ?
It didn't have a warranty or insurance. I have seen some AT&T models for Samsung Galaxy s4 on sale on ebay and craigslist which had broken screens. Should I be able to i) swap the motherboard from AT&T model to gt-i9505 to make i9505 work or ii) swap the lcd from i9505 to AT&t model to make AT&T model work ? Are they compatible in any way ?
