Why won't my S4 stay connected to the wifi?

s4 Won't stay connected to wifi

My S4 was working absolutely fine until about 6 hours ago whereas now it will no longer stay connected to my home wifi. I put in the password and it connects for literally about 1 second and then disconnects again. It's as if it forgets the network completely.

PLEASE HELP!!

Is the Smart switch checked in your WiFi settings? Uncheck it. It is intended to stabilize your connection by going to cellular when WiFi is unstable. But instead, it leaves WiFi for cellular at every hiccup, even though most WiFi networks have short, mostly meaningless hiccups.

It may also help to "forget" the WiFi network, then log in again.

Tried all that without success. Also tried wiping the cache. Still nothing. Was thinking to restore the device but don't want to lose all my data/photos etc.

Once it disconnects it acts like it doesn't remember the network to begin with. Smart switch is off.

Turns out it was McAfee app. Had to uninstall and re-install
