Why doesn't my Samsung Galaxy S4 screen turn off at times?

AC Question

Samsung Galaxy S4 screen doesn't turn off at times.

My phone screen doesn't turn off automatically all the time. At times it does but most of the time it doesn't. Whenever this happens, I am forced to launch task manager and close all applications then the screen will turn off after the preset timeout period. But this doesn't happen all the time and its not isolated to 1 application. For eg. If I have 3 which i launched and I am back to home page at times screen may turn off but at times it doesn't. I have the smart cover on my phone but i tried it without the smart cover and with it. The issue continue to occur either ways. Sad part is it doesn't happen all the time.. :(

Any suggestions.

Welcome to Android Central! When the screen won't turn off, check to see if any of the apps open in the background are ones that have the ability to keep the screen on (like eReader apps).
