Why does FoxFi open now that I have AT&T tethering?

FoxFi opens now that I have AT&T tethering

A couple years ago before I had tethering with AT&T, I used FoxFi to do so--until an AT&T upgrade disabled the app. Now that I have a Mobile Share plan, tethering is included. When I turn on the hotspot it does so through the FoxFi app now and works fine.
Does that mean Foxfi is hiding my connection from AT&T? Should I uninstall FoxFi and allow the hotspot on my Samsung Galaxy s4 to open without Foxfi?

Welcome to Android Central!

You can probably just uninstall it since you have tethering on your plan. It is not hiding anything and just counting against your data.
