AC Question

My Samsung Galaxy S4 has been Downloading for 2 hrs.

I was reading how to make my dying battery last longer. It said to turn off phone while pressing 'down volume' for "safe mode". when I did this, then it told me to press 'up volume'. I did & the green guy icon w message appeared saying it was "downloading". will it EVER stop??

Welcome to Android Central! You entered Download Mode, which is used to load a firmware. As long as you're not connected to anything, you can safely reboot from that screen (or power down, then power up again).

Different devices may have different ways of getting into Safe Mode. Steps for the S4 are at the bottom of this article: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5744

Like Diddy said, you have entered download mode for installing different ROMs. To get out of this power off your device by removing the battery, wait a few seconds then put the battery in and power back up. Then to enter safe mode follow the instructions posted above.
