Why is my battery over heating and have a huge battery drain after the recent upgrade?

Over Heating and Battery Draining after upgrade

I have just recently upgraded my S4 and now it is over heating and the battery is draining very quickly - although it took a few days for this to happen. I have read about the issue on the S5 but not for the S4. I have been trying to backup on Kies3 but it always stalls on email account information. then I was going to do factory reset.

Try a much simpler Cache Partition wipe first.

Lots of things to sync? Email, Hangouts, apps, etc., etc. That eats a lot of battery, and a high battery drain creates a lot of heat. Give it a while to finish - at least a day or so. (And keep the battery up above 40% - plug the charger in before it drops lower. Leaving the charger plugged in until the update stops settling in isn't a bad idea if you can.)
