Why does my unlock screen keypad show squares instead of numbers. ( Samsung Galaxy 4)?

Unlock screen keypad shows squares instead of numbers. ( Samsung Galaxy 4)

since system update my main screen keypad (where you enter code to unlock the phone) shows little squares instead of digits. I can still unlock it but numbers aren't visible. How can I fix this?
