I'm trying to add phone contacts to my list and it won't let me. What should I do?

I'm trying to add phone contacts to my list and it won't let me.

I syncronized my face book contacts but now I can't add phone numbers and other details. I had an S4 that died and Ilost all of my contacts. Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! If you lost all of your contacts with the dead S4, then I assume you routinely enter the contacts into the Phone Account. I recommend against using the Phone Account, because of what happened to you--if something happens to the phone, then your contacts are all gone (unless you routinely back up using Kies or some other similar PC backup program).

Enter all of your contacts into your Google Contacts on the web. The contacts will sync automatically with the phone, as long as it's logged into the same Google account. If something happens to the phone, then your contacts are still safe in the cloud.
