Hi, I tried to charge my S4 which i got about a year ago this afternoon. At first it said something along the lines of "dock is connected" when i connected it to the A/C but did not charge. I tried to remove any dust from it and it started to charge intermittently. Next a dialogue box appeared asking me to instal something called Power Sharing from Samsung apps. Ive done this and I have also uninstalled it, both with and without this app it says it is charging but at 0% per hour. It has also stopped recognising the phone is there when charging throught the mains but does recognise and "charge" when connected to my laptop. I downloaded the Lollipop update recently which caused the phone to be slow and freeze but last week I reset to factory settings but still with Lollipop and it has been fine until this battery thing today. If anyone knows what I can do next I would appreciate it! Thanks

Welcome to Android Central! It sounds like a problem with the port. Did you already try using a different USB cable? Did you also try using a can of compressed air to blow out the port?

The fact that it was first thinking you were connected to a dock, and then it thought you were trying to Power Share, makes me think something about the port is connecting wrong. (Power Sharing is a feature where you can use your phone's power to charge up another device via USB connection.

You may have to bring it to a repair shop.
