Why don't I have an unlock prompt?

Unlock no prompt

I have a Sprint S4 that I have the unlock code for. When I put in the new carriers SIM it doesn't prompt for the unlock code. Tried several * strings but nothing. Tried to follow old thread about this but wouldn't pull up
