Why can't I send outgoing Gmail on my S4?

why cant i send outgoing gmail on s4

it took me a month, but i just realized that i can only send gmail OUTbound utilizing the gmail app on my s4. I changed my password and haven't been able to send since then. I was able to before, but something must have changed with gmail security. I'm just letting you know so you can let other people know if they have problems. I checked ports and security settings and EVERYTHING, but couldn't figure it out.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you having this problem when trying to send emails from your Gmail account with the stock Email app? If so, any reason why you're using both the Gmail app and the Email app for your Gmail account?

Try going to the Email app's settings, remove the Gmail account, then add it back again, and see if it works.
