why does my battery drain even when plugged into a charger?

Hello,

I have a samsung galaxy s4 and when I first got it, it came with a charger that charged super fast. I have since misplaced said charger and had to use various other ones I have. My problem is when I use a charger it either charges EXTREMELY slowly, or if I am using apps like youtube, netflix, or clash of clans while my phone is plugged in it still drains the battery just at a much slower speed than if it wasn't plugged in. Is this the chargers fault and I need to get a new one? Do I need a new battery? Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to Android Central! Are you plugged into a wall outlet? If so, go to the Settings>Battery menu--does it say it's charging on AC or USB? If the latter, then the cable or wall charging plug isn't working correctly, and is only providing the low amount of current that a USB port usually provides. Try different cables or charging plugs.
