how do I transfer al my contacts from my S3 to my S4? And my post it notes?

Some of the contacts transferred over but others didn't....
the post it notes have lots of info on them and I'd rather not retypeeverything!!

Welcome to Android Central! Where are the contacts saved to--your Google account or the local Phone account? The former is easy, because they sync automatically with your Google Contacts in the cloud, which then sync to the new phone. The latter are more of a pain, because they don't sync anywhere. Did you try Smart Switch?

What post-it notes are you talking about? Is it a preinstalled sticky note app? Those kinds of apps aren't good to save important data to, since they often don't backup or sync anywhere, and it may be difficult to transfer that data to a new device.
