Galaxy S4 WiFi problem

Yeah... I'm on a Samsung galaxy S4. It used to be perfectly fine with no problems but, it is very old. I am here to talk about 1 of many... my WiFi. So, I have Lolipop 5.0.1. When ever I go into settings to turn on WiFi the switch turns grey and says "On" but it's not. On the bottom it says "Turning on" but it really isn't. I have tried many things such as, multiple factory resets, WiFi fixer, WiFi safe mode turned off, tap the back of my phone, and clearing my RAM. 1 more thing, while I'm in the settings for wifi and it is still "turning on" and I hit the home button the lever turns green and says "on" but it really isn't. It would be great if someone could help me with this and sorry for the long post

Welcome to Android Central! In case the firmware has become corrupted, you could try reinstalling the firmware, either using Samsung Kies, Smart Switch, or Odin (http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...w-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html).

Or you could try opening the phone up and checking the wi-fi antenna's connections. I don't know much about that--you could check YouTube for teardown videos.
