How to fix the big multicolored "G" in S4 recents menu?

Hi all,
How to fix this issue since the latest update of google app. Interesting thing is that I own the I9505 version while my friend owns an I9515 but he doesn't have this strange issue. It looks so ugly like that. I am attaching a snapshot to make things more clear.

Don't be frustrated by the number of views without a reply -- people are probably viewing your thread based on the intriguing title, thinking they might be able to help. But if they realize they can't, then they probably figure that it's better not to leave a reply saying something like "gee, I don't know."

If you uninstall updates for the Google app, does that go away?

I tried that but that just returns it to the original white icon. I was just a bit frustrated cuz my friend seems to normal sized icon so I am assuming that the problem is on my end rather than the app.

I'd say wait until the next update to the Google app. Or you could try enrolling in the Beta program for the Google app (see the app page on the Play Store to enroll), and see if that clears it up.

Edit: I installed the beta version and it that icon returned to its original style and color. Thanks for your help

Great! I haven't run into any significant issues with the beta version, so it should run pretty smoothly for you.
