I set up email on my Samsung S5 mini

I set up email on my Samsung S5 mini. Very easy and all emails transferred ok but shortly afterwards when I came to use my laptop Windows Live Mail would not connect.

Why is this and how can I put things right?

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that Windows Live Mail would not connect on your laptop or on your phone?

If you're having problems with the mail syncing to your phone's Email app, go to the Email app's settings, select the Windows Live Mail account, and edit the server settings. Make sure they match these: Android - Windows Live Mail mail setup | Email settings

If the protocol is POP3, you have to select to leave a copy of the messages on the server if you wish to have it available on multiple devices. Otherwise, if you read it on your phone's email app but don't leave it on the server, you won't see it on your PC mail client.
