The Galaxy S5 isn’t going to be commercially available for another month, but it looks like a user from Mexico has managed to get a hold of the device ahead of time. He then proceeded to shoot a video in 4K (3840 x 2160) to demonstrate the imaging potential of the device.

Well apparently a minute of 4k video on the S5 takes up 1gb of storage space. This is crazy, I don't think I will ever record in 4k on the phone unless I want to extract images later on.

Thanks. Looks good. Though I would like to also see some 4K video of a more normal setting (perhaps of a person, or of some closeups of people or things, etc). Still, it looks great. Very excited about this phone :)

The Note 3 can do this. Issue with 4G is I font think you get any stabilization for the video.

If you did it would be I threshing for spots for capping out frames.

But right now you're better off using the smooth recording setting at 1080p, which is 60FPS full hd.

Really superb video. I saw this before, but each time I see it it's almost impossible to believe it's from a cellphone. Of course I felt the same way about the Note 3's video.

FWIW, I thought the 5 did have image stabilization.
