My Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 wont stay on unless plugged in

Ok this is a new problem cause i have searched and no one seems to have this problem so far. I bought my tab 3 in December, in January it wont come on however when i plugged it in it did....yay.... whew....but when i unplug it the same thing happen. It would not work unless the adapter is plugged into an outlet or USB cord is connected into a computer. Which means that in my book it is equivalent to my desktop and this is not why i bought it. What can i do besides sell it off?
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!

I wouldn't sell a defective device. Perhaps using the warranty would work?
