Default Can't see screen in sunlight or outside

Is there anything I can do to make it so it's not as terrible to look at the screen outside if there is a little sun?

Turn it to full brightness. I can see my screen fine in direct sunlight.

That's just part of having an amoled phone. Turning the brightness all the way up is your best bet

You have to turn on autobrightness to take advantage of outdoor reading. As I understand, the autobrightness goes all the way to 700nits outdoors. That's higher than the max level if you manually change it.

I can attest that it looks great outdoors with autobrightness on.

If you use it a lot at outdoors then your best bet is to turn on the Auto in the Brightness settings. I my case, I'm most of the time under a roof, at home, Office or my car, so as soon as I will be outside I manually turn on the Auto and then once I'm under the roof again I justturn it off, why, why not leaving it in Auto all the time?, well, simply because having the display adjusting the brightness all the time may drain your battery faster than simply having a fixed brightness settings.

But again, that's what works better for me, to each it's own.

The phone has a feature that increases the max brightness while outdoors. To do this you have to use the auto brightness. Manually raising the brightness to max won't achieve the same result.

Who uses their phones outside? LOL

Auto Brightness works for me. I have to admit hTc M7/M8 worked even better.

anyways....if you use manual brightness, it won't go up all the way until you put on auto brightness

Turning the screen to full brightness - gives me little benefit is bright sunlight - even in the shade of trees - still can't see screen.

Adaptive color profile on auto will give you the best view in sunlight. Auto will actually get brighter than full brightness.

Default Samsung S4 and screen issues in bright sunlight.

I have tried all the suggestions to try and improve screen reading in bright sunshine. As much as I hate saying this I gave up and went and purchased an Apple sadly. At least it works in the bright sunlight. BTW I hate Apple but I need a phone for outdoor use

What about an anti-glare screen protector for $2.00 on ebay? Does that mean I'll be able to see my display in the sunlight or just my display won't cause glare when I'm looking at the invisible display?
