    Default Stock Apps re-install?

    Is it possible to re-install a stock app like messenger on the S5 without doing a factory reset?

    Not rooted ..... the app turned a bit weird and I think the only way to clear up the problems is to re-install it.

    Can you tell us a little more about the weirdness? Have you tried Clearing the Cache and/or Data in the App Manager? Or a system cache partition wipe? Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 5 | T-Mobile Support

    The app is the stock messenger on the S5.

    I cleared cache.

    The function to translate the message to another language is not working. If you long press on the message either sent or received the function to translate pops up but pressing on that function does nothing.

    In addition just before using the function all of my non-locked messages dissappeared. Not sure why.

    The reason I want to reset the app is I believe it is in a confused state.

    Ok, took a chance and cleared cache and data both. Power the device off and on. Everything back to normal again.

    I spent part of the afternoon with both AT&T support as well as Samsung Support neither if which could really help.

    Thankfully we have the forums in time of need.
