Hello,

I just recently switched from my BlackBerry Z10 to an S5. After a week of usage I am still loving this badboy.

I have a questions that I need some help with. I got a new SD card, transferred all the files over to it. In the process I also went and renamed some videos I had. I was renaming both some of my old videos and some that I had taken with my s5.

When I am in the "Video" app, they are still showing up with the old file name. However, when I am in the "My Files" app and click on Videos, they are showing up with the renamed file name. Please see the screen shots below. I would like for them to show up listed with the renamed file name in the "Video" app.

Am I doing something wrong?

One more thing. When I click on "Details" in the "Video" app, the file name shows the old name, but the "Path" shows as the renamed file name!

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Wow..... Thanks for all the help guys.

What a difference between sites. This is my first Android phone after many years on a BlackBerry.

The Crackberry forums would jump all over problems in an attempt to solve them. There are so many threads here with the same experience I am having with not 1 person to respond.

Strange and sad all at the same time.

Just my $0.02.

Wow, this gets me too. No answer in almost 2 months?

The filename is the name you're changing. The name the video app is showing is part of the metadata of the file. (The file has more data than just video.) I know how to change the metadata on a picture (it's called EXIF data, and there are EXIF editors), but I've never looked to change metadata on a video file. There are probably apps that will do it, though. (It's the track name in an mp4 file, so EXIF editors written to change data in pictures won't give you the track name to change, since pictures don't have track names.)

Thank you very much. I appreciate your response. I will try to search for an exif video editor app that will help me out.

Any suggestions from anyone on a good app to use would be appreciated.
