Phone comes on but won't let me access anything, have to leave off for a minute or two

Does anyone else have this problem? The screen is not black it goes to my main screen but it won't let me access anything, it will sometimes (after repeated attempts) show the last page I was looking at but then goes back to the main page without the icons. After a minute or two it acts like every thing is okay...So annoying!
