Basically they said don't use features the phone came with.

"Thank you for contacting Samsung Telecommunications America.

After reviewing your E-Mail, we understand that your Samsung Galaxy S 5(SM-G900A) phone is dialing 911 when it is in pocket.

We understand how inconvenient it would be and how exactly you feel. We will help you in providing you with the information available from our end.

We should inform you that, in general if we assign Password/PIN or pattern lock option as screen lock on the phone then you will get “Emergency call” option on the lock screen of the phone. While phone is in pocket and if any thing touches that “Emergency call” option accidentally on the lock screen then it will automatically dial the Emergency numbers. So, please disable the PIN/Password or pattern lock on the phone to stop displaying “Emergency call” option on the lock screen of the phone.

We should inform you that, we in e-mail support channel deals only with the technical troubleshooting for the Samsung US carrier based tablets and mobile devices and do not have information regarding the future updates from our end. We are unable to speculate when/if this software revision might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion. Should this become available, it will be posted on our website in the Samsung Download Center or you will be informed by your service provider. Please feel free to check with us periodically for updates.

Your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. Please feel free to get back to us, if you have any further queries. We will be glad to assist you.

Should you have more questions regarding your Samsung Mobile Phone, you can also reach out to our chat support team by accessing the following link. Live Chat is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Have a wonderful day! "
