Just went from the 4 to 5... one major thing i notice out of the gate is it NEVER can focus on up close material - through the native camera app, or snapchat, etc.

Does anyone have any experience with this and is there a solution?

I have not had that problem with the native camera app. Haven't used Snapchat.

That's a gorgeous photo. Quick question though. How did you get the leaves to be achromatic but left the splashes of color in the background???

Thanks for the comment. I've been playing with the latest version of Photoshop Express free from the Playstore. With 16 MP to play with there is alot of latitude for experimenting.

Attached is the original, before any editing.

I think the lense may be a bit loose on your device. Post a shot of something not close by. How long have you had the device?

I struggled with this with bar code scanning apps. The last few software updates (I'm on Verizon) seem to have patched this for me.

If your device unable to focus on object on that you wanted to, just tab on your S5 screen where you want camera to focus it will focus on that object. try it now it will work .. like in this photo tap on that piece of paper. it will make it clear.. try it and post pic

Wow, I experienced that problem as well. Glad I came across this thread. ☺

I have the same issue with focusing. Doesn't work all that well with close ups. A manual focus feature would be awesome!

Same here. I tried to take a picture of a spider while at work recently, to show off my camera. Apparently I didn't have much to brag about because the camera wouldn't focus very well. Even when I tapped on the area the spider was. Eventually I just gave up. I need a Nikon with a good macro lens or something.

Boom! From My S5

Here are two quick pics of my pen. In one I focused on the tip, in the other I focused on the end. Both were taken from maybe 2" away. Not bad close up focusing I don't think.
