Went back to Verizon and their solution was to turn wi fi off blue tooth etc and put it in ultra saving mode,,,,,,, in other words don't use it and the battery will be fine???????? What do I do?

You need to turn off thing that you don't use, like bluetooth sounds good, also kill background application if you dont use them every 5 minutes, lower the brightness.

Maybe you should look on the store, there is some app to handle your battery life.

What are you getting for battery life? Do you have your screen turned up? Any new apps or recently updated ones?

Keep wifi on if you have a good, stable connection as it is better to use than LTE data but leaving it on for extended periods of time when it isn't connected to a wifi signal will hurt the battery

Also turn off nfc and data if your on Wi-Fi. My 2 year old N4 still lasts 14 hours. I also only charge for a few hours at a time

I use MacroDroid to turn the internet on/off as needed.

works like a champ.
When screen is locked, internet is turned off.

When screen unlocks, internet is turned back on.

While the internet is off, the phone just idles along and sips battery about about 8 or 10 percent per day.

When you need the phone, it is ready to go to work for you and has lots of battery to do it with.

* MacroDroid - Device Automation - Android Apps on Google Play

Here is a short list of the main macros important to me:
T = Trigger
A = Action
C = Contstraints

Labeled Internet Off:
T: Screen Off
A: Data off, disable Wifi
C: None

Labeled Internet On:
T: Screen Unlocked
A: Data On, enable Wifi
C: None

MacroDroid has a huge library of transition sensors, and controls. You just have to play with it. Once you do, you will come to depend on it a lot.

The only connections I turn off most of time are location (GPS), bluetooth and NFC. I think that helps minimize battery drain. Also disable/turn off all the bloats you don't need.

But I keep WiFi, data on all the time as I'm in good to decent signal area most of time. And I don't see much difference in battery drain with WiFi on/off when tested it couple of days.

Turn off all Bloat that you don't use from Samsung and Google. And uninstall that garbage app from Facebook and boom 24 hour battery life and 16 hours heavy use. That worked for me.

I leave both Bluetooth and Location on all the time.

Neither one of them use any significant battery unless called by another app.

just turning off the radios will stop 99% of the wasted battery power.

How do you even know that Facebook is installed or do you just like the opportunity to soapbox?
