Help with S5 downloading pictures/videos on regular basis

What's the best way to import pictures and videos on a monthly basis with S5?

I am connecting via USB cable and then right click (Windows 8) to import. However, it searches all of my music (which I don't want to download) and then it's tough to tell which files I've already imported.

Is there another way or 3rd party app that can tell what was downloaded previously to my computer?

I installed Dropbox to my phone, then dropbox on my computer. Then I turned on the dropbox feature to auto upload every photo whenever I am in range of wifi (which is quite often) The net effect is that all I ever have to do is check my dropbox folder on my computer. The new camera photos are already there no muss no fuss.

Yea, Dropbox works great for that. The Airdroid app maybe another option for you.

With dropbox do you have to copy the files into the dropbox folder only?

I am interested in trying this but I want the photos copied from the phone onto a USB hard drive attached to my router? What app can I use to do this?
