Two Features From Android 5 That The S5 Already Has

I think I do, I just converted over to ART runtime on Verizon's 4.4.4 and I am totally wowed!!!

I think the 4.4.4 modified the ART runtime which IIRC, Lollipop is based on?

Anyway, read what I found here.

in short, I have most of Lollipop already now and it did not cost me one red dime.

The thing about ART is that you can't download any system updates or the upcoming Android 5 (whenever that is). Your device has to be on DALVIK.

I did a Google Search and I couldn't find anything about a device running ART not being able to get system and Android OS updates. I read it on these forums awhile back. Can someone with more smarts than me clarify this? Also... is ART automatically enabled in Android 5 or does this update still use Dalvik?

I have using ART on my device (N5) for 7 months now and had 2 OTA updates normally without problem...

Just switched to ART everything seems fine.
My wife has a s5 from tmobile. Mine is a s5 verizon model.
After I switched mine to ART I put both phones side by side and the phone running ART was slightly more fast at opening apps.

ART replaces DALVIK in Android 5 so why would you not be able to use ART for system updates?

I was thinking because ART on Android versions before 5.0 is experimental and still in development.. whereas with 5.0 it's ready for use. I see your point though. I read somewhere that some people who had ART enabled were getting "system modified" errors when trying to install an OTA update.
