Resetting the Alternate password on my S5

So I've run into a bit of a problem and haven't been able to find a solution after searching the internet for about half an hour. I was using the fingerprint scanner as my lock for private mode. Today, it refused to recognize my fingerprint and now is asking me for my alternate password to be able to get into private mode, as well as to be able to get into the fingerprint manager. As I set up the alternate password about 6 months ago, I obviously have no clue what it is. So far I've tried doing the Android Device Manager lock and password reset, which does not wipe the fingerprints out, as I was using a pattern for my front screen lock. I've also tried doing a settings reset which did not work. Is there any way to reset that password without having to do a factory reset on my phone?
