Auto brightness really work?

Why when I have auto brightness on, I look under battery use, it says that's the most percentage being used is screen brightness. How can that be with auto Brite on? I've tried to use with and without auto on and still it is the most used of the battery. Is my phone working Ok?

Screen will almost always be the top battery user, unless you hardly ever turn the screen on. What's more important is how much total Screen-On time you're getting.

The OMELED pixels need a lot of power to make them bright....

Auto Brightness is neat, will will dim the screen down low when you are inside a darker room... but, it still takes battery power....
