My Galaxy S5 is stuck at Google play services has stopped, how can I fix this?

Galaxy S5 stuck at Google play services has stopped

After a 3 foot drop at work today, my battery in my S5 popped out. I got the battery back in and it took a while to load up but after about five minutes it looked like it was ready was ready to go. I slid the home screen and all I see is Google play services has stopped,after pressing okay a Gmail has stopped working error pops up. It is in an infinite loop and I can't do much. If I go fast, I can do one action at a time. I have tried restarting the phone multiple times I am only able to turn off by taking the battery out. If anyone has any information please lemme know.

Have you tried to boot into recovery mode and clear the cache there and reboot?

Also you can try a reset from there.

No I haven't tried that. I will look into it.

Now Google Search has stopped working errors are popping up. In the recovery mode, what happens when I reset the phone? Completely clean it?

It is worth a shot since it isn't working at all. Try clearing the cache first and then if that doesn't work, boot into recovery again and try the reset.
