S Voice Says "It Appears You Don't Have Any Email"

and what's up with the man's voice? I KNOW it used to be a woman's voice, right? Not that I plan on using it but just wanted to check out the feature to have S Voice read my UNread emails. Well, it tells me that I don't have any. Please check again when you have at least one email message. Has anyone tried this and did it work for you?
